  • An established minimum 55-gallon aquarium is ideal for a small Frontosa. Size up accordingly for a larger individual or group of Frontosa.
  • A minimum tank size of 125 gallons is recommended for a group of Frontosa cichlids.
  • They prefer a water temperature of 75-80°F and a pH of 7.8-9.0.
  • During spawning, territoriality is usually at its height. They should not be housed with dwarf shrimp or other tiny, sensitive invertebrates. In a large enough tank, other Tanganyikan cichlids that are too big to be considered prey may make ideal tankmates.
